Wooden Pendant Ocarina Unveiling – Batch #22 – Ocarina Marathon Day 1

It’s day 1 of a week-long marathon of ocarina batch reveals leading up to the 82nd New England Folk Festival in Marlborough, MA from April 24-26! This set, batch 22, consists of three soprano pendant ocarinas, SN 057, 058, and 059. This set is crafted from three woods – a beautiful curly claro walnut body, a striking zebrawood top, and my classic aromatic cedar mouthpiece. This batch also consists of two different keys – two Eb5 pendants, which is a new key offering, and an original Eb5 pendant. A summary of the woods for each ocarina is as follows:

SN 057 (Eb5): curly claro walnut, zebrawood, aromatic cedar

SN 058 (E5): curly claro walnut, zebrawood, aromatic cedar

SN 059 (Eb5): curly claro walnut, zebrawood, aromatic cedar

The tone of these ocarinas is bright and sweet with a rich texture to the timbre. Each pendant is carefully voiced with sweetness and clarity across the range, with a low breath curve that makes them effortless to play even at the high end. Like my first batch, all of these pendants are 7-hole style (6 hole plus 1 sub-hole) with a total of 18 notes.

Full in-depth details of every ocarina, as well as the story behind the pendant development, features of the pendants, sound samples, and a full song demo from this batch is now available on the Bretti Musical Instruments YouTube page:
